I decided to create a separate blog with only one purpose-to inspire and motivate myself and others with wisdom embedded in our bodies and minds that will remind us to never give up on our dreams and aspirations.
This morning I went to the State capital with the Upward Bound group to celebrate Trio Day. One thing I will always remember is when one of the representatives shared with us the wisdom his father passed on to him about hard work and giving back to the community. It reminded me about my humble beginnings and where I am from, and how I am just getting started in this journey to success.
Today in midweek there was a story about this woman who is battling ovarian cancer. She is triathlon trainer who motivates her clients to "don't slow down before you reach the finish line" and now she is taking her own advice of not giving up until she knows she has tried everything and did her best to live. I was inspired and appreciative at the same time. No matter what circumstances I may face, as long as I do not slow down and keep on going, I know I will come out successful in the end. Here is the link of the article in case I want to come back to it:
"Can't keep a good woman down."
I was also inspired when I was reading the blog of a current MIT student, Michael Snively, who really taught me to never be afraid to ask others for help. And no matter whether people say a 'yes' or a 'no', just ask anyways. And as Michael Snively puts it, "Never be afraid to go straight to the top." Here's the link to check out his awesome adventures; and remember, you do not have to be a MIT student to read his blog; anyone who would like to learn can visit the site anytime.
"Rising to the top."
And finally, what has taught me even more about not giving up is having the privledge of watching and cheering for my school's basketball team, the Farrington Governors, win the championship tonight, after persevering and sticking it through till the end. Lesson learned: Do not give up until the very last microsecond-literally. It was an honor to have been able to watch these boys prevail after what I thought was going to be harsh defeat. But they never gave up, and came out victorious! Go Farrington Basketball Boys!
Thanks again for reading my blog, and I hope you come out as inspired as I have been learning about these people's experiences and their ways of dealing with obstacles that comes one life!
